Donna Green

Donna J. (Zelt) Green, of rural Churubusco, returned in spirit to her Lord and Maker on February 1, 2018 after a lengthy struggle with health issues. She was born in Fort Wayne to the late Rudolph F. and Martha B. (Fuchshuber) Zelt. She graduated from Southside High School. She obtained her undergraduate degree at Ball State University and then a master's degree at St. Francis and IUPU. She married Thomas E. Green on November 18, 1967 in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Green was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church, serving in the past as treasurer of the congregation. Donna also served as Secretary Treasurer of the Family Management Consulting Firm, the Syracuse board Ergo Resource Management, Inc. Donna retired as school administrator with Fort Wayne Community, she spent 25 years at Northrop High School serving as a guidance counselor, Dean and then guidance coordinator. She loved to read, and in retirement enjoyed volunteering at the Churubusco Library. Donna was also an accomplished basket maker and seamstress. She also enjoyed ocean cruises, boating, jet skiing on Lake Wawasee and weekend dinners with friends and family. Donna is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Green of Churubusco; sisters, Beverly G. Zelt, MD, of Levering, MI, and Marsha K. Schneider, of Wyoming, MI; nephews, Kenneth S Yew, MD, of La Crosse, WI and Brett Rondot of Wyoming, MI; nieces, Kristine A. Girard, MD, of San Francisco, CA, and Michelle Anderson of Grand Rapids, MI. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by one brother James Zelt. Celebration of life service will be 5:00 pm on Saturday February 10, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 9251 E. SR 205 Churubusco. Visitation will take place from 3-5 pm at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Lane Bergland. Memorial may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
