Donna Lothamer

Donna Lothamer, 87, of LaOtto, passed away at 8:15 p.m., on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, on February 26, 1931, she is a daughter of the late Hugh & Faye (Lynch) Downing. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne. She was married on February 28, 1948, in Fort Wayne, to Donald Francis. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2017, after 69 years of marriage. Donna work as a CNA at Byron Health Center and retired after 28 years. In her retirement she worked part time at Sacred Heart in Avilla. If she wasn't taking care of someone else she was being a nurse to her children. She loved spending time with her family, especially going on family trips. She also enjoyed doing crafts, playing bingo and eating out at Big Eyed Fish. Donna is survived by her five children; Linda (Roger) Gick, Robert (Karen) Lothamer, Diana Heath, Ken (Lori) Lothamer, all of Fort Wayne and Tim Lothamer, of Roanoke; 19 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great great grandson and her furry friend, Jasper. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Stephen Lothamer; two brothers, Hugh "Butch" Downing and James Downing; three sisters, Karen Downing, Maxine Quickery and Judy Lothamer; two grandsons, Terry and Chad Linn. Calling will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Monday July 2, 2018, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Calling also one hour prior to the service. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joe Community Church, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
