Donna L. McCoy, 71, a resident of rural Albion and wife of Phillip A. McCoy, passed away unexpectedly at 4:29 a. m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the family residence in Noble Township. Mrs. McCoy was born in Kendallville on March 29, 1944, a daughter of Russell "Buck" and Lois (Kline) Hetrick. She spent her formative years in Brimfield, and was educated at Rome City High School. On March 16, 1973 she was married in Albion to Phillip A. McCoy. The couple lived in Green Township in Noble County for several years before moving to their home south of Albion in 1992. Employed as a realtor for several years, she had been associated with Fairview Realty in Kendallville, and was later self-employed in that capacity. In her leisure time she greatly enjoyed going to and having garage sales, enjoyed shopping, and most especially loved and cherished her family. The surviving relatives include her husband Phil; her four children Laurie (Greg) Helgesen of Albion, Pam (Scott) Gardner of Albion, Sam Manning of Brimfield, and Missy (Mike) Meroney of Albion; her mother Lois Hetrick of Brimfield; three sisters Debra Campbell of Kendallville, DeAnna "Dee" (Terry) Baker of Englewood, Fla., and Joan (Gary) Shafer of Elkhart; a brother John (Karen) Hetrick of Ossian; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her father preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Corinne Boruff-Stucker, pastor of Churubusco United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3 to 8 p. m., or one hour prior to the service Tuesday morning. Interment will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
