Donna Sheldon

Donna Mae Sheldon, age 94, a resident of Churubusco, passed away on January 21, 2017 at her family farm. Born in Allen County on May 18, 1922, a daughter of George And Emma (Glaw) Wappes. She spent her formative years in Allen County and graduated from Huntertown High School in 1940. She enjoyed reading and doing her word searches. She Liked to whistle and mow her yard. Donna was married on December 18, 1943 to Carl R. Sheldon. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1987. Surviving include her daughter, Sharon (Don) Shearer of Churubusco; three grandchildren, Edison (Melissa) Shearer of Churubusco, Carla (Troy) Horn and Doug Shearer both of Columbia City; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents Donna was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Fogel and Walter Wappes; two sisters Mable Shank and Olive Martin. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco, or one hour prior to the service. Services will begin at 10:00 AM, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Burial will follow at Eel River Cemetery, Allen County. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Blue River Church of the Brethren Building Fund.
