Doris Conwell

Doris Jean Conwell, 77, of Churubusco, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, at Millers at Oak Pointe. She was born in Garrett on May 27, 1947, to the late Garman Earl and Beverly "Mae" (Gaff) Lower. She spent her formative years in Angola and Graduated from Angola High School in 1965. Doris married Robert Earl Conwell in Angola on June 9, 1965. The couple moved to the Churubusco community in 1973. Robert preceded her in death on February 26, 2008, after 42 years of marriage. Doris spent several years working for Autoliv in Columbia City and found fulfillment in her retirement by spending time with her family. She was a Churubusco Church of the Nazarene member, displaying her faith through service and fellowship. Doris is survived by her daughter, Roberta Conwell; her son, Carey Joe Conwell; her sister, Rosemary Aronen; her grandchildren, Jamie, Conwell, Jolynn (Jarvis) Conwell-Ness, Danielle Conwell, Dakota (Troy) Keller, Cody (Jackie Diekman) Conwell, Hailey Conwell, and Bailey Conwell. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott Allen Conwell. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive friends and family at the funeral home on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
