Doris W. Craig, 79, a resident of rural Churubusco and widow of Donald E. Craig, passed away at 4:09 am on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 ate Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City shortly after admission.e She had been taken to the hospital after becoming ill at Miller's Merry Manor in Columbia City. Mrs. Craig was born on July 21, 1933 in Allen County, a daughter of Charles and Vera (Bair) Dafforn. On September 26, 1953 she was married in Ligonier to Donald E. Craig.e e Mrs. Craig was a homemaker, and a member of Churubusco Order of the Eastern Star 136. Her husband preceded her in death on January 11, 2007. The surviving relatives include a daughter Penny Craig of New Haven; two sons Gary E. Craig of Churubusco and Brian (Brenda) Craig of Warsaw; a sistere Sandy (Harry) Miller of TX; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Denise M. Craig on December 22, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Pastor Dwayne Berna of the Merriam Christian Chapel, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p. m. on Sunday,e or one hour prior to the service Monday morning. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
