Douglas Hensley, 63, of Albion, passed away unexpectedly on November 26, 2024, at his home.
He was born on April 8, 1961, in Fort Wayne, to the Roy and Amy (Taylor) Hensley. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne and graduated from Elmhurst High School.
After high school, Doug proudly served in the United States Army Reserves until 1987.
Doug was married to Christina Eckert in Columbia City in 1986.
He was a dedicated mechanic by trade and worked for different Chevrolet Dealerships. Doug later retired from Advanced Auto Parts and will be remembered for his expertise and dedication to his work. He had a passion for cars, not just as a mechanic but also as a collector and admirer. Many will fondly recall Doug at local car shows, proudly showcasing his 1966 custom silver Mustang. Beyond his occupation, Doug was known for his hobbies of target shooting, collecting knives, and his continued love for working on cars.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Christina Hensley; his mother, Amy Hensley; his son, Douglas (Jessica) Hensley, Jr.; his daughter, Amy (Scott) Ayers; his brother, Ronald (Mae) Hensley; and his three sisters, Andrea (Chris) Weidman, Mona Christiansen, and Lana (Niles) Storey; three granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Hensley.
There will be no formal services at this time.
