Edith L. Colpean, 83, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away at 5:25 pm on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Colpean was born on September 10, 1931 in Kiel, Germany, a daughter of Wilhelm and Elisabeth (Clausen) Mohr. She spent her formative years in Kiel, and Emigrated to Toranto, Canada in 1954. In June, 1955 she was married in Toranto, Canada to Robert LaGrow, and moved to Saginaw, Michigan, he precedes her. On Decemeber 24, 1970, she married Edward Colpean in Saginaw, Michgain. She was employed at Wickes Lumber as a bookkeeper for 17 years. then she worked at Saginaw Community Schools, and retired in 1993. In addition to spending time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed going to the casino and traveling. Her spouse Edward Colpean preceded her in 1992 after 22 years of marriage. The surviving relatives include two daughters, Regina (Tim) Kelley of Au Gres, Michgain and Rebecca (Rick) Gascoyne of Churubusco; four grandchildren, Tiffany Stamper of Au Gres, Michgain, Rane Gascoyne, Morgan Gascoyne both of Churubusco, and Stefanie (Michael) Haines, Burns, Oregon; a sister, Ute (Uwe) Grefendorf of Preetz, Germany; also many nieces and nephews in Germany and Australia. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by a brother, Heinz Mohr and a sister Irmgard Mohr - Libner. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm Sunday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Van Horn, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Oak Wood Cemetery, Saginaw, MI.
