Edwin L. Rosswurm, 91, of Albion, a simple and steadfast man, passed away on January 24, 2025, at Miller's Merry Manor at Oak Pointe.
He was born in New Haven on July 25, 1933, to the late Glenn and Lucille (Krick) Rosswurm, He spent his formative years in New Haven and graduated from New Haven High School.
Ed married Shirley A. Busick on October 6, 1956, at St Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville. The couple started their family in Woodburn. In 1968, Ed moved his family to the farm in Green Center. Shirley preceded him in death on August 5, 2018, after 61 years of marriage.
Ed lived a life rooted in dedication, hard work, and the love of his family and friends. After serving as a tail gunner in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, Ed returned home with a drive that led him from driving a gas truck to becoming a third-generation Brick Mason and farmer. He was passionate about his home and lived out his days in Green Center, filling his time with work and visiting friends and family.
Ed is survived by his sons, Jeff Rosswurm, Chris (Pam) Rosswurm, Tony (Sharon) Rosswurm, and Brad Rosswurm; his daughters, Ann (Mike) Lira and Cheryl (Mike) Gierscher; his sisters, Sister Barbara Jean Rosswurm and Linda Love; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ed was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Shelly Rosswurm; his brothers, Richard Rosswurm and Stanley Rosswurm, Sr.; his sister, Dorothy Nichter, Lois Emenhiser, Rosemary Rosswurm, and Nancy Hauser.
A Mass of Christian Burial Will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at St John Bosco Catholic Church at 220 North Main Street, Churubusco, Indiana, with calling taking place from 10:00 to 10:45 at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel.
The family will also receive family and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m.
Ed will then be laid to rest at Ege Catholic Cemetery.
