Eleanor "Jean" Leffers, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Kingston Care Center in Fort Wayne.
She was born in Allen County on May 15, 1930, to the late Harry and Laura (Bolinger) Felger. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne.
Jean was married to Donald Leffers, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, in Arcola, on June 3, 1950. The couple settled on Goshen Road and lived in seven houses, finally settling on "Leffers Lane." Donald preceded Jean in death on November 17, 2022.
She was a member for more than 60 years of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.
Jean was a wonderful example of a wife and mother. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her two sons, Timothy (Peggy) Leffers and Matthew (Dawn) Leffers; her two daughters, Connie (Fred) Campbell and Sharon (Larry) Tallent; 18 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Kavnaugh; a grandson, Craig Tallent.
A Mass of Christian Burial will occur at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with calling beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
Memorials may be directed to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church for Masses.
