Etta Davis

Etta M. Davis, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 4:42 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Davis was born on April 19, 1940 in Muncie, a daughter of Charles A. and Etta Viola (Grindle) Sites. On June 27, 1955 she was married to Billy R. Davis, he preceded her in death on September 15, 2005. She was employed at General Electric for 20 years, and retired from Magnavox in 1989 after 13 years. Ms. Davis was a member of Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 241 in Waynedale. The surviving relatives include two daughters - Gloria (Scott) Parker of Churubusco and Rose (Gary) Gray of Albion; her companion - Jim Erhardt of Fort Wayne; a brother - Lawrence E Sites of Fort Wayne; a sister - Marcia E. Sites of Monroeville; a brother-in-law Greg Groves of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Grove and Callie B Hess; a son, Bobby L Davis; two daughters, Starr and Brenda Davis; and a great granddaughter. Nataly Sheckler Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Minister Bill Ballenger, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
