Garry D. Cutter, 84, of Columbia City, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023, at The Oaks Nursing Home in Columbia City.
Born on January 13, 1939, in Williston, ND to the late Zelotes (Z.D.) and Anne (Mihm) Cutter. Garry served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He married his loving wife, MaryAnne Meyer on July 5, 1958. Together, they started their family, raising 2 girls and 2 boys.
Garry and his family moved to Churubusco in 1970, when Magnavox transferred him to their Fort Wayne facility. He served several years with the Churubusco Police Department as a Dispatcher, while he worked on his Doctorate in Theology. Garry served as pastor for the Church of the Good Shepherd in Churubusco, prior to moving to Alabama in 1982. He retired from Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville, AL, and started a small cabinet shop at their home in Hartselle, AL. Garry had a passion for woodworking, music, photography, and learning. He enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, target shooting, and being with friends and family. Garry and MaryAnne were members of the Fairview Church in Falkville, AL, prior to moving back to Indiana in 2021.
Garry is survived by his wife, MaryAnne Cutter; daughters, Beth (Mike) Ardhuerumly, and Deb (Mike) Richardson; sons, Steve Cutter and Scott (Amy) Cutter; grandchildren, Hollie Ardhuerumly, Shawn (Phyllis) Shepherd, Daniel (Anna) Shepherd, Michelle (Tyler Tolson) Shepherd, Jennifer (Bob) Storey and Tommy (Jesse Brewer) Cutter; and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Garry was preceded in death by his sister, Leah Allert; and a grandson, Michael Ardhuerumly.
Public visitation for Garry will be held on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM with funeral services starting immediately following visitation.
