George Arnold

George W Arnold, 93, of rural Fort Wayne, passed away on October 6, 2021, at his home. He was born in Eel River Twp, on March 1, 1928, to the late James and Goldie (Hewen) Arnold. He spent his formative years on the farm, graduating from Huntertown High School in 1946. George served in the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict. He served from November 1951 to October 1954. George was married to Phyllis Smith in Allen County, on September 26, 1948. Phyllis preceded George on March 8, 1996. He was a life-long farmer. He also drove school bus for Northwest Allen County Schools for 41 years, retiring in 1993. George was a lifetime member of Fellowship of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed being outside. One of his favorite things to do was cut firewood. George is survived by his three children, Jeffrey (Marilyn) Arnold, Chris (Vickie) Arnold and Doug Arnold; his four grandchildren, Jennifer (Andrew) Neubauer, John (Courtney) Arnold, Mary (John Hastreiter) Jerome and Jared (Candice Tabor) Arnold; 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Arnold; three sisters, Ruby Bailey, Fanny Burns and Fern Arnold; a special friend, Trudy Repka. Services will take place at Fellowship of Wesley Chapel on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 1:00 PM., with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 2 to 7:00 PM. Burial taking place at Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco.
