George Wallace Frazier, 101, of Fort Wayne, passed away on March 22, 2022, at his home in Lake Township.
George was born on the family farm in Eel River Township, on March 12, 1921, to the late Rosell and Ruth (Wood) Frazier. He spent his formative years on the farm and attended Huntertown High School.
George married Regina Mary Konger in Ege, on April 22, 1944. He was U.S. Army Air Corps veteran in the German occupation. Upon his return, he and his wife managed the family farm. Regina preceded him in death on December 2, 2011.
He was an active member of swine breeders associations. In 1968 he and his sons showed the grand champion boar at the Indiana State Fair; George called that the biggest achievement of his farming career. He was a founding member of the St. John Bosco Catholic Church. He served on the first parish council and was active in different parish committees. George and Regina enjoyed square dancing and hosting family and friends for afternoon coffee and euchre nights.
George is survived by his five children: Lee (Lynne) Frazier, Fort Wayne; Rita (John) Griffith, Avilla; Tom (Debra) Frazier, Fort Wayne; Patricia Martin, Wadsworth, Illinois; and Laureen Watts, Fort Wayne. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren: Sr. Katherine Frazier O.P.; Anne Frisbie; Angela Braden; Terry Sible; Randy Sible; Mary Halter; Douglas (Doug) Frazier; Philip (Phil) Frazier; Richard (Rick) Frazier; Shane Hall; Andrea Martin; Serena Haddon; Wesley Barnes, and Brittany Watts.
Also 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings: Paul, Irene Johnson, Earl, Helen Snyder, Dorwin, Betty McComb, Frank, and Robert, and two sons-in-law, Larry Sible and Jeffrey Watts.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Churubusco, on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., with calling from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family will also receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel. on Sunday, March 27, 2022, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco.
