Georgia C. Schenher, 76, of Ege, passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. Born on August 6, 1941, in Kokomo, a daughter of Wayne and Naomi (Phillips) Byrd. She spent her formative years in Churubusco and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1959. Georgia was married on April 10, 1959, to James Schenher at Ege Immaculate Conception Church. She was a member of the Ege Immaculate Conception Church and also a past member of the Rosary Society. She was a loving grandmother who enjoyed spending all the time she could with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved sports; especially Notre Dame Football, IU Basketball and Cubs Baseball. Georgia is survived by her husband, James Schenher of Ege; Four children, Kevin Schenher of Ege, Leesa (Ron) Sparkman of Ege, Darin (Kim) Schenher of Elwood and Jimmy (Rachel) Schenher of Avilla; five grandsons, five great grandsons, six great granddaughters; and a brother, Bradley Byrd of Columbia City. She is preceded in death by her parents and her identical twin sister, Torchia Fry. Visiting hours will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Sunday, March 11, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Ege on Monday, March 12, 2018. Burial will follow at Ege Catholic Cemetery.
