Gerald A. "Jerry" Mascho, 70, a resident of rural Churubusco, passed away at 6:25 p. m. on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, where he had been a patient for the past week. Mr. Mascho was born on November 16, 1943 in Jackson, Michigan, and had lived in this area since 1987. A truck driver for most of his life, he had retired in 2001 from Warner Trucking in Fort Wayne, and was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Churubusco and the American Legion.. On July 8, 1975 he was married in Kingsland, Georgia to Barbara E. Gentry. She preceded him in death on March 14, 2008. The surviving relatives include his children Jana Vachon of Churubusco, Brian (Jill) Gardner, Larry Mascho, and Martin Peacock, all of Fort Wayne, and Kayla Mascho and Destiny Mascho, both of Churubusco; his sisters Ann M. Clery of Mason, Mich., Mary Ellen Clery of Stanton, Mich., and Patricia K. (Gary) Clery-Monroe of Schoolcraft, Mich; two brothers Kevin M. (Kim) Clery of Mason, Mich. and Brian J. (Carrie) Clery of Stockbridge, Mich; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents Francis C. and Sara Ellen (Welch) Clery; a son Steven Mascho; two brothers Mark F. Clery and Larry F. Mascho; and a son-in-law Kenneth Vachon. Services for Mr. Mascho will be held at the convenience of his family.
