Gorgean Dice

Gorgean Elenore Dice, 89, of Huntertown, passed away at her home on April 28, 2024. She was born in Fort Wayne on November 29, 1934, to the late Walter and Frances (Seifer) Fox. She spent her formative years in Huntertown and graduated from Huntertown High School. After she graduated from Huntertown High School in 1953, she married the love of her life, Paul Dice, on October 16, 1954, at St. Vincent's De Paul Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2019, after 65 years of marriage. Gorgean went to work in 1962 at Victor Gasket and then retired from Dana Corp., on June 1, 1997. She had a love for quilting, tending to her beautiful flowers, and was an enthusiastic basketball fan, often attending her grandchildren's games when she could. Gorgean is survived by her children, Barney (Vicki) Dice, Tim (Mary Jo) Dice, and Mary (Sam) Ashton; and her siblings, Betty Tom, Paul Fox, and Tom Fox; 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dice; her parents, Walter and Frances Fox; a daughter Connie Dice; and her siblings, Marjorie Schnurr, Norma Reid, and Jerry Fox. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St John Bosco Catholic Church, 220 North Main Street, Churubusco, on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with calling at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. The family will also receive family and friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco. Memorials may be directed to St John Bosco Catholic Church for Masses. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
