Gregory Murray

Gregory Paul Murray, 59, of Churubusco, passed away at his home on Friday, November 24th, 2023. Greg was born on February 17th, 1964, in Fort Wayne, to William and Barbara (Brown) Murray. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne and graduated from Elmhurst High School. He was a devoted husband to Wendy, his beloved wife, whom he married on August 22nd, 2015. Greg was a very hardworking man at a young age. He began working with his dad in construction and then started his own asphalt business working with his son. He later was able to start farming, which was his dream come true. He loved to golf, ride his motorbike, play evening golf, go on cart rides with his two puppies, farm, walk along a good creek, and then play more golf. Greg was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved to tell a good story, read his bible, and was forever learning new things. He loved God, his family, and his friends more than anything. Greg is survived by his wife, Wendy Murray; his father, William (Roxy) Murray; his daughters, Kelsie (Cote) Godoy and Stefanie (Earl) Bitz; his sons, Austin (Destinee Felix) Murray and Steven (Devon) Minnich; his brothers, Dave (Charlotte) Murray and Andrew (Shannon) Poinsette; his sisters, Kathy Murray and Kelly Poinsette; his father-in-law, Dan Bishop; his grandchildren, Trae, Cale, Carly, Skylynn, Itty, Melanie, Noelle, Leif, Tripp, and Solea; his great-grandson, Elliot. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Newbrand and mother-in-law, Brenda Bishop. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, located at 206 North Main Street, Churubusco, with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive family and friends on Monday, November 27th, 2023, at the funeral home, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
