Harold Traxler, 89, of Huntertown, passed away on August 15, 2025, at Betz Nursing Home.
He was born in Kendallville on September 30, 1935, to the late Howard and Frances (Lemper) Traxler. He spent his formative years in Avilla on the family farm and graduated from Avilla High School.
He was married to Lori Williams in Auburn on January 19, 1993.
Harold proudly served 30 years at Harvester in Fort Wayne. During that time, he served as a Plant Manager. A man of the community, Harold was a founding member of the LaOtto Fire Department in 1964. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and bird watching from the tranquility of his front porch.
Harold is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lori Traxler; his children, Candi (Terry)Ross, Curt (Tina) Traxler, Craig (Sue) Traxler, Carla (Steve) Plummer, Codie (Lisa) Traxler, and Colson (Ashley) Traxler; his sisters, Thelma Buchs and Lorraine Weaver; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Vincent Traxler, Jack Traxler, Omer Traxler, Richard Traxler, Lois Remke, and Eulalia Ellert; a grandson, Adam Ross; and a great-grandson, Kyler Herron.
A funeral service will take place at noon on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Huntertown Chapel, with calling hours beginning at 10:00 a.m.
