Henry Linnemeier

Henry C. Linnemeier, 91, a resident of rural Churubusco in Allen County, passed away at 7:52 a. m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in fort Wayne. He had been in failing health since November and had entered the hospital on Tuesday. Mr. Linnemeier was born on November 16, 1922 in Lake Township, a son of Carl and Bertha (Stahlhut) Linnemeier, and spent his formative years on the family farm there. On July 14, 1951 he was married in Allen County to Lois L. Yohey, and moved from the Arcola-area to his present farm home in Eel River Township in 1969. He was engaged in farming in both Lake and Eel River Townships all of his life, and in his leisure time enjoyed coon hunting. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Churubusco. The surviving relatives include his wife Lois, to whom he was married for over 62 years; his three children Nancy (Stan) Loos of Rome City, Barbara Covell of Fort Wayne, and Ruth Linnemeier of Churubusco; three grandchildren Amy (Bobby) Anderson of Bloomington, Carrie (Stan) Tormoehlen of Seymour, and Jason (Annette) Linnemeier of Fort Huachuca, Ariz; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Ralph Linnemeier and Elmer F. Linnemeier; and by two sisters Velma Heckman and Alma Kruse. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church in Churubusco with Pastor Lane Burgland, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2 to 5 p. m., or one hour prior to the service Monday morning. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco is in charge of the arrangements.
