Hilda Shively

Hilda I. (Sloffer) Shively, 102, of Churubusco, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at North Ridge Village in Albion. She was born on January 25, 1918, in Allen County, to the late Milo and Bertha (Dunten) Sloffer. Hilda was married to Paul B. "Pete" Shively on June 26, 1936, in Marion. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1997. She was a member of Churubusco United Methodist Church and Ladies Circle. Hilda was an avid IU Basketball fan. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Tom) Clouse and Shirley Taulbee; a son, Paul A. Shively; six grandchildren, David (Nicole) Taulbee, Donna (John Slusar) Taulbee, Melinda (Damon) Emgenbroich, Steven (Kimberly) Clouse, Lisa (William) Hoerger and Denise (Lance) Hamblen; nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Hilda was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Price Taulbee; two brothers, John Sloffer and Robert Sloffer; three sisters, Marie Bosler, Marcella Hoyer, and her twin sister, Helen Stonestreet. Services will take place at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home on Friday, September 11, 2020, at 1 p.m, with calling one hour prior to service. Burial will take place at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. To respect the family's wishes, masks are required for all visitors.
