Howard Gordon

Howard Leroy Gordon, 86, of LaOtto, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at his home. Born in Noble County, on January 13, 1934, to the late Jesse and Bessie (Pippenger) Gordon. He spent his formative years in Noble County, graduating from Churubusco High School in 1952. Howard was married to Rosalie Rosenogle in Columbia City, on February 8, 1954. She preceded him in death on September 10, 2015. He worked at Flint and Mullins for a period of time. He spent time as a custodian for Merriam Christian Church, Thorn Creek School and Columbia City High School. He enjoyed fishing, auctions, wood cutting, antique tools and gardening. Howard is survived by his two sons, Phil (Jan) Gordon and Perry (Judy) Gordon; a daughter, Phyllis Gordon; two sisters, Edna (Vernon) Yeagle and Delores (Alden) Bingham; ten grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Gordon; two sisters, Mary Merrill and Evleyn Rollins. Services will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will receive also receive friends on Monday, September 28, 2020, from 3:00 to 7:00. Burial taking place at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. Memorials to World Missionary Press.
