Ilene Leitch

Ilene Leitch, 97, of Churubusco, passed away on December 17, 2017 at North Ridge Village in Albion. Born on December 13, 1920, in Noble County, she was a daughter of the late Sanford and Vada (Addis) Winebrenner. She spent her formative years in Noble County. Ilene was married in Churubusco on July 4, 1937, to Everett K. Leitch. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1985. She worked in a family business her entire life. Her first 20 years she worked at the former Leitch's Grocery, Churubusco. She then assisted her Husband for 26 years operating the former Leitch's Mobile Service Station, Churubusco. She also worked many years at Root's Camp & Ski Haus, Fort Wayne and for two years at Blue Bell, Columbia City. She attended the Churubusco United Methodist Church. llene enjoyed mowing yard, traveling, baking cookies and going to breakfast at the Magic Wand with friends. Ilene is survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Leitch; a brother, Milen Winebrenner; two sisters, Marjorie Lacava and Vesta Jones. Calling will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Services will begin at 10:00 AM, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Churubusco Public Library or Churubusco United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
