Isabel Fiedler

Isabel Rose Fiedler, 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 5:32 pm on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Coventry Meadow Assisted Living in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Fiedler was born on February 1, 1934 in Auburn, a daughter of Walter and Grace (Jackson) McGuire. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne, and graduated from South Side High School in 1952. In February of 1952 she was married in Fort Wayne to Gene Fiedler. She was employed for a period at Gerding PX. Mrs. Fiedler was a member of the former St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Her spouse preceded her in death in March of 2008. The surviving relatives include four daughters, Cathy (Max) Roemke, Cheryl (Bob) Walker both of Fort Wayne, Diane (Jim) Davis, and Laura (Eric) Williams both of Columbia City; sister, Helen Lathrop; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her three brothers James McGuire, Albert McGuire, Bill McGuire. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor William Smith, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
