James R. Dafforn, 74, of rural Auburn, passed away on February 22, 2017 at his home.
He was born on March 20, 1942, in Bluffton, a son of Robert and Mary (Deam) Dafforn. He Spent his formative years in Huntertown and graduated from Huntertown High School in 1960.
Mr. Dafforn spent his life farming. He belonged to the National Oliver Hart Power Association, the Cedar Creek Tractor Club, and the Tri-State 2 Cylinder Club. He also liked to collect antique Tractors.
James is survived by his son, Monte (Inez) Dafforn of Albion; a daughter, Laurie (Jeff) Showen of Hamler, Ohio; his companion, Mary Jo Hassen; two brothers, Donald Dafforn and Roger (Judy) Dafforn both of Churubusco; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary (Deam) Dafforn and a sister -in - law, Karen Dafforn.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., calling also one hour prior to service.
Services will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., Pastor Larry Smith, officiating.
Burial will follow at Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
