James C Maus, 61, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at his home in Fort Wayne. Mr. Maus was born on July 30, 1954 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, a son of Charles and Imogene (Davies) Maus. He spent his formative years in Scranton, and graduated from Scranton High School in 1972. He received his Bachelor's degree from Kansas State University and a Masters degree from Indiana University. He was married in Mercer County to Debra Gritton on July 24, 1987. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2010. He retired as a Chemical Engineer. Mr. Maus was a member of the Huntertown United Methodist Church. James loved God and challenging many others in the faith as well, he loved to travel and enjoyed being by the ocean and playing golf. The surviving relatives include the love of his life Edith Miller of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Jackie (Scott) Pfeifer of Marshfield, WI and Tatiana Bryan of Plymouth, MN; a sister, Valerie Feista of Goldsboro, PA; two grandsons, Alex and Nicholas Pfeifer He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Huntertown United Methodist Church, with Pastor Greg Hiatt, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Huntertown United Methodist Church from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion.
