James Powers

James C. Powers, 89, of Staten Island, NY, sadly passed away on June 13, 2025. He was born on May 30, 1936, in Fort Wayne, to the late Donald and Irene Susan (Ackerman) Greve. He spent his formative years in Indiana then received a bachelors degree from NYC University. James retired from James Powers Professional Artist, Inc. after 40 years of service. James was a proud member of Actor's Equity, Screen Actors Guild, AGT Students League, and held the esteemed title of Kentucky Colonel. Even though he never married, James's life was filled with profound connections and meaningful relationships. James leaves behind his loving siblings Wanda Jett and Don Jr. His impact on their lives will forever be cherished and his memory will live on in their hearts. In addition to his parents he is preceded by a sister, Carol Collinsworth. A public calling will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Huntertown Chapel. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery, Kendallville. Memorials may be directed to the ASPCA.
