James Wehrle

James A Wehrle, 66, of Churubusco, passed away on February 24, 2020, in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, on April 9, 1953, to the late Robert and Helen (Eber) Wehrle. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne, graduating from Bishop Dwenger High School in 1971. James was preceded in death by his life partner, Debra Reimund, on June 6, 2011. He retired from Norfolk & Southern after more than 25 years of service. He loved living on Blue Lake. James was a "true outdoorsman" and taught many children how to fish. In addition to fishing, he enjoyed deer hunting. He was a fan of Notre Dame Sports. He most especially enjoyed his family. James is survived by his daughter, Danielle Wehrle; a step-son, Ethan O'Brien; three sisters, Carolyn (Larry) Michelbrink, Monica (Harriet Miller) Wehrle and Peggy (Jim) Elder-Nelson; a brother, Thomas (Karen) Wehrle; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Robertson; two grandchildren, Aydan and Megan O'Brien. In addition to his life partner and parents, he is preceded by a stepfather, Richard Wehrle; two brothers, Robert and Joseph Wehrle; his beloved dog Jack.
