Janice Harter

Janice L. Harter, 81, of Churubusco, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. She was born in Churubusco on January 27, 1941, to the late Francis and Jessie (Freeman) Harter. She spent her formative years in Churubusco and graduated from Churubusco High School. She retired from Lincoln Life Insurance in 1992, after 30 years. She then worked at Walmart for a period. Janice was a member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the "Card Lady" and was very thoughtful. Janice sent cards to all friends and family for any event or accomplishment. She also loved to travel all over the country. Janice is survived by her sister, Judy (Pat) McGuire; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Nancy Harter, Jr. Services will be held at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Monday, January 2, 2023, at 2:30 p.m., with calling beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco. Memorials may be directed to the Churubusco United Methodist Church. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
