Jason Daniel Spurgeon, 29, a resident of Fort Wayne and a native of rural Allen County, passed away unexpectedly early on Monday, June 29, 2015 at his home. Jason was born in Fort Wayne on December 1, 1985, a son of Dan J. and Jane (Miller) Spurgeon. He spent most of his formative years in Allen and Noble Counties, and had lived in and around Fort Wayne during most of his adult life. He was previously employed at Busche Enterprise Division, Inc. in Albion, and had worked for the past several months at Reliable Tool & Machine Company in Kendallville. The surviving relatives include his precious daughter Breonna Spurgeon of Huntertown; his parents Dan J. (Corliss) Spurgeon of Columbia City and Jane (Dave) Spurgeon-Geiger of Fort Wayne; six sisters Jennifer (Troy) Robinson of Avilla, Jessica (Adam Sauers) Spurgeon of Columbia City, Jodie (Keith) Barker of Fort Wayne, Julie (Audie Fontillas) Spurgeon of Columbia City, Jamie (Jonnie Faust) Spurgeon of Harlan, and Lina Spurgeon of Columbia City; a brother Justin Spurgeon of Fort Wayne; his grandparents Joanna Spurgeon of Churubusco, Janet Miller Killian of Huntertown, and Rex (Linda) Miller of Kendallville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. on Friday, July 3, 2015, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Corinne Boruff-Stucker, pastor of Churubusco United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday after 12 noon until the hour of the service. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be directed to the family. *****************************************
