Joan Louise (Fox) Gordon, 85, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 17, 1928, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Fred and Jeanette (Bryan) Fox. She was formerly employed at Bell Telephone, Lincoln Life, and was a certified teacher at Bethel United Methodist Preschool. She was the co-owner of R&J Coffee Service, and was also the Thrift Shop director at Trinity United Methodist Church for 20 years. She was dearly loved by her family and was always there for them. She loved children, and because of her extensive zebra collection, her grandkids knew her as "the grandma with the zebras." Surviving is her devoted husband of 65 years Robert L. Gordon, who held her hand until the end. Also surviving are her children Rebecca (Don) Kline of Churubusco, Joni (Mike) Koorsen of Yoder, Rachelle (Eddie) Bannister of Miramar, Fla., and Robert (Sandy) Gordon II of Mesa, Ariz; grandchildren April (Tony) McClurg, Natalie (Pete) Bellotti, Joshua (Theresa) Koorsen, Gina (Matthew) Fischer, Alex Kline, Brandon (Mandie) Gordon, Ryan Gordon, Blake Bannister, and Brielle Bannister; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Nancy Doerfler; and brothers Freddy Fox and James Fox. Memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p. m. Tuesday in the fireplace lounge at Trinity United Methodist Church, 609 Putnam Street, Fort Wayne. At the request of Mrs. Gordon there will be no services.
