Joan Kessler, 93, of formally of Churubusco, passed away on October 2, 2021, at Miller's Merry Manor - Columbia City.
She was born in Fort Wayne, on February 1, 1928, to the late Lyman and Pauline (Sines) Blanchard. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne, graduating from Churubusco High School in 1946.
Joan worked at Omni Source for more than 25 years. She was a bookkeeper and switchboard operator. She was often called back to help out until she was 80 years old.
Joan was an avid bowler from 18 to 84 years old, with a high game of 253. She traveled all over the US for tournaments, hitting 49 states.
Joan is survived by her children, Kent (Deb) Kessler, Randy (Karen) Kessler and Susan Fry; seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband William Kessler; her three sisters, Lorraine Bunn, Olive Tonkel and Mary Ellen Meskimen; her long time companion, Jay Adams.
Services will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with calling one hour prior to the service.
The family will also receive friends on Monday, October 4, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Burial taking place at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
