Joan Ostermeier

Joan J. Ostermeier, 83, of LaOtto, passed away on November 7, 2020, Auburn Village Nursing Home. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, on August 18, 1937, to the late Jule and Maryann (Righley) Jeanmougin. Joan married Thomas Ostermeier. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1984. Joan was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings. She was incredibly creative and always made the most amazing birthday cakes, award- winning Halloween costumes, and beautiful displays. Joan enjoyed spending mornings watching birds and stray animals feast from her backyard feeders while sipping her coffee. She was a fierce competitor in nursing home bingo, and she was delighted by the adventures of her great-grandson. She loved her family very much. She worked as a receptionist at Bricklayers Union 4 for many years. Joan is survived by her two daughters, Marie (Tracey) Hyde and Marie (Mark) Trzeciak; one son, Brian (Sherry) Ostermeier; three grandchildren, Nikohl Wulfsberg, Einar Wulfsberg and Neal Ostermeier; one great-grandchild, Henrik Wulfsberg.
