Joan Ott

Joan C. Ott, 86, of Albion, passed away at 12:45 p.m. on June 13, 2017 at her home. Born in Churubusco on February 21, 1931, she was a daughter of George and Elmira Mae (Rollins) Deck. She spent her formative years in Churubusco. Joan was married on September 30, 1950 to Howard Ott. The couple moved to Noble Twp. Near Merriam. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1998 She retired from Monsanto in Ligonier. Joan is survived by two sons, Robert (Lois) Ott of Cromwell and Lawrence (Rochelle) Ott Sr. of Sherwood, AK; a daughter Janet (Leland) Meroney, Jr. of Merriam; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Deck, Warren Deck, Sr. and Ralph Deck; two sisters, Marceil Foote and Joyce Tompkins. Visiting hours will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM., or one hour prior to the service on Friday. Services will begin at 10:30 AM, at Cornerstone Wesleyan Church, Merriam, on Friday, June 16, 2017. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
