Joan Walker

Joan Louise Walker, 57, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 12:05 am on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at her home in Fort Wayne after a long battle with lung cancer. Ms. Walker was born on July 31, 1956 in Columbia City, a daughter of Alfred E. and Helen (Geiger) Bolenbaugh. She spent her formative years in Churubusco, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1974. She was employed at CVS for 10 years as the Photo Manager. The surviving relatives include two daughters - Lee Ann (Arthur) Brown of Warsaw and Stacy Walker of Fort Wayne; son - Dustin (Nicole) Walker of Fort Wayne; four sisters - Ellen (Steve) LaRue of Columbia City, Donna (Kevin) Lane of Kennwick, WA, Faith (Dean) Harshman of Churubusco, and Bonnie (Troy) Bigelow of Garrett; two brothers - Willis Bolenbaugh and Jim (Kelly) Bolenbaugh both of Churubusco; two grandchildren; also survived by her beloved rottweiler Gonzo. She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred E. and Helen (Geiger) Bolenbaugh. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Van Horn, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Friday. Burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
