John Bradley

July 26, 1925 — September 11, 2018

John C. Bradley, 93, of Cromwell, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Parkview Noble Hospital. Born in Fort Wayne, on July 26, 1925, to the late John C. and Rowena (Hight) Bradley I. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne. After high school he went to serve his county in the United States Army in the 11th Div. 5th Infantry, during World War II. He was married on July 30, 1950, to Martha Ellen Bowers. The couple lived in Fort Wayne until his retirement. John retired from Truck Engineering Company in Fort Wayne after more than 30 years of service. He was a life time member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster. He was a founding member of the Wolf Lake VFW post 4717 and a honorary member of the Ligonier VFW post 734. He enjoyed genealogy, playing poker, woodworking and reading. John is survived by three sons, John C. Bradley III, Scot (Mary) Bradley and Ross Bradley; a daughter, Connie Bradley and seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha; a son, Clark Bradley; three brothers, Robert, Kenneth and William Bradley. Services will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 6:00 PM. Family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Burial will take place with Military Honors at Thorn Cemetery, Ormas, at 9:30 AM, Saturday, September 29, 2018.
