John Hemphill

John D. "Possum" Hemphill, 60, of Columbia City, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022, in Fort Wayne. He was born in Beaver Falls, PA, on June 20, 1962, to the late John and Lois Hemphill. He spent his formative years in Beaver Falls. Possum worked as an over-the-road trucker for many years. In his retirement, he enjoyed trading, selling, and customizing matchbox cars. Possum enjoyed spending time with his family and having a good time. He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Katrina Wilcox; his daughter, Jazelyn Hemphill; his stepson, Johnathan (Brittany Dilley) Wilcox; and a sister. The family will receive family and friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco, on Sunday, August 28, 2022, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Churubusco Lion's Club.
