Jose Ricardo Lucio

Jose Ricardo Lucio, born January 27, 1942, in Del Rio, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, at 8:40 a.m.

He was the beloved son of Santos and Maria Lucio, whose love and guidance shaped the generous, hardworking, and deeply caring man he became.

As a young man, Jose worked as a laborer, building the strong work ethic that defined his life. He later became a mechanic, a role that perfectly matched his natural talent for fixing things and his love of working with his hands. Whether it was a car, a truck, or a piece of equipment, Jose could always find a way to bring it back to life.

He loved hunting, fishing, working on cars, scrapping, and collecting "treasures". He also liked spending time in the garden and yard. He found joy in simple pleasures and in the company of others. He especially cherished the time he spent talking, laughing, and "solving the world's problems" with his dear friend Maryanne.

Known for his sense of humor, his big heart, and his unwavering willingness to help anyone in need, He touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He had a gift for making people laugh and an instinct for knowing when someone needed a lift. His warmth, generosity, and kindness will be remembered always.

Jose leaves behind his four sons, Estevan (Melissa) Lucio, Mark (Gina) Lucio, Ephrain (Bev) Lucio, and Tony (Lisa) Lucio; his thirteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, whom he was so proud of. He also leaves behind countless nieces and nephews who loved him.

Per his request, the family will hold a private ceremony to honor his life. A Celebration of Life will follow on May 16, 2026, at the home he shared with Tony and Lisa, 810 Easton Trail. Additional details will be provided at a later date.
