Judith K. Murphy

Judith K. Murphy, 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, in Indianapolis.

She was born on February 25, 1946, in Fort Wayne, to the late Paul and Ruby (Pepple) McDougall.

She was married to Paul Jack Murphy on March 6, 1984. He preceded her in death in January 2005.

She retired from the VA Hospital in 1982, where she worked as a Human Resources Manager.

An active member of the local community, Judith maintained a strong connection to organizations such as the Elks and the Eagles. She had an adventurous spirit and embraced life to the fullest, enjoying motorcycle trips with her husband and creating lasting memories along the way. In her quieter moments, she found joy in her creative endeavors, particularly through crafts such as needlepoint and crochet.

Judith was a cherished aunt, leaving behind her nephew, Kevin (Beth) McDougall, and her niece, Kelly McDougall; a sister-in-law, Colleen McDougall; great-nieces and nephew, Lilly McDougall, Devon (Morgan) Pulley, and Marissa (Kalob) Williams; and a great-great-nephew, Elliot.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Michael Paul McDougall.

Funeral services will be held on May 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel. A public viewing will begin at noon.

Judith will be laid to rest following the service at the Huntertown Cemetery.
