Judy Kay Ashbaugh, 77, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital.
She was born on August 1, 1944, in Fort Wayne, to the late John and Pauline (Rimpler) Swoverland. She spent her formative years in Allen County and graduated from Arcola High School in 1962. Graduated in 1967 from Ball State University, with a bachelor's degree in education and a minor in Physical education.
Judy was married to Don R. Ashbaugh, on December 19, 1970, in Fort Wayne.
Judy loved to work on the family farm with her husband. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. Judy was a member of the Arcola United Methodist Church, where she played piano and was in the Women's Society.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Lori (Paul) Nunley and Melissa (Larry) Ice; a son, John Ashbaugh; nine grandchildren, Emma (Greg) Ochs, Hannah Nunley, Ethan (Bethany) Nunley, Avery Ashbaugh, Nick Ashbaugh, Connor Nunley, Theo Ashbaugh, Lexi Ice, and Hudson Ice; a brother, Joe (Ellen) Swoverland; two sisters, Vicki (Ronnie) Johnson and Jeri Ann Johnson.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Becky Swoverland.
Funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Arcola United Methodist Church, 11311 Arcola Road, Arcola, IN 46704, with calling beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at Eel River Cemetery.
