June Lock

June M. Lock, 83, of Churubusco, passed away at 6:10 a.m., on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. She was born in Fort Wayne, on May 15, 1935, to the late, William and Emily (Smith) Herbst. As a child, she lived in Fort Wayne and Pennsylvania before her family settled in Churubusco as a young teenager. June was married on May 16, 1953, to Arthur Lock at Immaculate Conception Church in Ege. She owned and operated June's Beauty Shop in Churubusco. June was an avid painter. She loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed spending time with them. Her favorite pastime was shopping. June is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Kumfer and Deborah (Chris) Funk; two sons, Richard (Lona) Lock and Michael (Sharon) Lock; two brothers, Donald (Fran) Herbst and James (Jackie) Herbst; two sisters, Mary Ann Shurman and Jeanette (Bill) Carraway; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Arthur Lock; a brother, Arthur Herbst; a daughter, Theresa Lock. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Ege on Monday, January 7, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. The family will also receive friends at the Funeral Home from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m., on Monday.
