Kathern Brattain

Kathern M. Brattain, 84, of Albion, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away at 1:58 p.m., on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, in Bucyrus, Ohio. Born on March 1, 1934, in Fort Wayne, daughter of the late, Arlo and Irene (Green) Fromm. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne and graduated from Central Catholic before attending St. Francis College of Nursing. Kathern was married to William Tracey in 1949. Later Kathern was married to John Brattain on November 4, 1977, in Fort Wayne. The couple enjoyed volunteering at their church food pantry for over 18 years. They were longtime members of the Statewood Baptist Church in Fort Wayne. John preceded her in death on July 10, 2014. Kathern is survived by five children, William Tracey Jr., Dave (Charlotte) Tracey, Kathy Romianes, Vicki Habib, Gen Tracey and Cindy (Steve) Wolf; four brothers, Bob Fromm, Junior Fromm, Bill Goodpastor and Jim Goodpastor; two sisters, Norma and Pat Goodpastor; Many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and spouse, she is preceded in death by five sons, Larry, Eddie, Donald, Terri and Jayson Tracey; two daughters, Brenda Anderson and Angie Smith. Calling will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, from 2:00 PM, until 6:00 PM. Services will begin at 6:00 PM. Memorials may be directed to the family.
