Kathleen "Kathy" Tipton

Kathleen "Kathy" Tipton, 88, of Churubusco, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at her daughter's home. She was born in New York City, on July 7, 1934, to the late Gustave "Gus" and Catherine (Wren) Miller. She spent her formative years in New York. Kathy married Edward Tipton, in New York City, on June 12, 1954. The couple lived in Albion and Columbia City for a period following their marriage and had lived at their present home in Churubusco since 1959. Edward preceded her in death on January 23, 2008. She was a member of the St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Her surviving relatives include her two children, Nancy (Daniel) Poyser and William D. Tipton; a sister, Barbara (Robert) Huff; four grandchildren, Brent (Jenny) Poyser, Lane (Patrick) Kuntz, Ryne Poyser, and Justin Tipton; six great-grandchildren, McKenna Poyser, Xavier Lee Poyser, Brynn Kuntz, Collin Kuntz, Bryant Poyser, and Xander Poyser. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Sanders. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2023, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel. The family will also receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Ege Catholic Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the church for Masses. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
