Keith Bair, 77, of Churubusco, passed away at his home on December 16, 2024.
He was born on March 17, 1947, in Wolf Lake, to the late Ralph and Pauline (Keister) Bair. He spent his formative years in Churubusco and Graduated from Churubusco High School.
After high school, Keith served in the United States Army and spent a year in Korea. After his return, he was married to Deidre D. Miller on August 3, 1968, at Merriam Christian Chapel. Together, the couple raised their children in Churubusco.
Keith will be remembered as a man of many talents and contributions to his community. He was Whitley County's first certified EMT and served for many years on the Smith Township Volunteer Fire Department. His professional life was also marked by a commitment to service, serving as a Funeral Director for D.O. McCombs from 1969 to 1973 and again from 1983 to 1986. He also owned and operated Krider-Bair Funeral Home in Churubusco from 1973 -1976. Besides his service-oriented roles, Keith was an Over the Road Truck Driver and the owner-operator of KB Refinishing from 1988 to 2000. He was known for his hobbies of woodworking and buying and selling antiques.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Deidre Bair; his children, Toby (Julie Gingerich) Bair, Kris (Missy Tuttle) Bair, and Taya (Johnny) Saylor; his brother and sister, Curt (Diane) Bair and Paula (Bill) Shultz; eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and a great-grandson on the way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Bair.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, December 23, at the Blue River Covenant Brethren Church, 3040 East 700 North, Columbia City, Indiana, 46725, with calling one hour prior to the service.
The family will also receive family and friends at the church on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Burial will be at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
Memorials may be directed to the Blue River Covenant Brethren Church or the Shepherd's House.
