Kenneth L. Harmeyer Sr., 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Harmeyer was born on January 6, 1940 in Fort Wayne, a son of Val E. and Betty (Kramer) Harmeyer. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne, and attended Central Catholic and Central High School in Fort Wayne.
On October 1, 1983 he was married in Laud to Faye Byerley.
He was a owner operator at Harmeyer Bros. Window Cleaning.
Kenneth enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events
The surviving relatives include wife, Faye Harmeyer of Fort Wayne; three sons, Kenneth (Anita) Harmeyer of Fort Wayne, Timothy Harmeyer, and Chris (Kathi) Harmeyer both of Columbia City; two step-sons, Scott (Michelle) Luce of Spencerville and Kenneth (Sarah) Luce of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Valerie Brown of Wawaka, Jane "Bootsie" Bates of Fort Wayne, and Jill (Russ) Lee of Zanesville; three brothers, Robert " Bill" Harmeyer, John (Nancy) Harmeyer, and Gerald "Jake" Harmeyer all of Fort Wayne; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Karen Lynn Harmeyer; a step-daughter, Jacki Kay Grinstead; a sister Kathleen "Cookie" Harmeyer; and a brother Joseph Harmeyer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Van Horn, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, or one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
