Kenneth Lemley, Sr.

Kenneth L. Lemley, Sr., 79, a resident of Churubusco, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 8:41 p. m. at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne following an extended illness.e He had been a patient there since Tuesday. Mr. Lemley was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on November 5, 1930, a son of Harry Harold and Caroline (Carpenter) Lemley, and spent his formative years in Marcellus, Michigan. As a young man he served with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was married on November 24, 1968 in Centerville, Michigan to Donna Jean (Reynolds) Reno.e The couple lived in Centerville, Michigan for a period before moving to Churubusco in 1985. Employed as a concast worker with Essex Wire, he retired from there in 1992 after 30 years. The surviving relatives include his wife Donna Jean Lemley; three children John (Sue) Lemley of Centerville, Mich., Kenneth Lemley, Jr. of Churubusco, and Doris (Richard) Irwin of Centerville, Mich; a brother Harold (Terri) Lemley of Allegan, Mich; a sister Pat Palmer of Jenison, Mich; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Caroline eaA"Tootsea Berry. At the request of Mr. Lemley, there will be no calling hours, and private family services will be held at a later date. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco is in charge of the arrangements.
