Larry Allen Hille, 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away on March 3, 2025, at Kingston at Dupont.
He was born in Fort Wayne on January 28, 1941, to the late Otto and Elva (Beard) Hille. He spent his formative years on the family farm in Arcola and graduated from Arcola High School.
He married Phyllis Stambaugh on November 14, 1959, and they had three children. Later, on August 3, 1985, he married Anita (Hewes) Adams in Fort Wayne. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2015.
Larry was a compassionate and dedicated man who devoted his life to the things he loved most: his family and his farm. After spending his life on the Hille Farms land founded in 1875, Larry retired but never lost his love for farming and tractor pulling. He was an active member of the Arcola Tractor Pulls and Tri-State Antique Points Pullers. His faith was a guiding force in his life, and he was a faithful and lifelong Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church member.
Larry was a beloved father to his children, Kristine (Ray) Zeigler, Dean (Diane) Hille, and Doug (Angela) Hille; nine grandchildren, Rachel Zeigler, Renee Clark, Austin Hille, Logan Hille, Cameron Hille, Kolten Hille, Miranda Nowak, Isabelle Leazier, and Ethan Hille; eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by his sister, Maxine Peck; a granddaughter, Kaela Hille.
A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church, West California Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to the service.
The family will also receive family and friends at the church on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Burial will take place in the Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
