Larry R. Williams, 69, of Westfield, left his earthly assignment on September 2, 2018, at 1235 p.m. in Westfield. Born in New Castle, on March 21, 1949, to the late James and Joan (Null) Williams. Larry was many things in life. He spent time as a police officer in Danville. He was a Pastor of a Baptist Church. The thing that Larry excelled at the most was as a Funeral Director. He was known for the care he showed the families he served. Most of the time he served without families even knowing he was there. He was "The Embalmer's Embalmer" as he served many funeral homes across the state. He was a member of the US Jaycees where he served as Chaplin. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge #704 in Arcadia, F.O.P. and the I.F.D.A. In 1963 he received a Gold Medal for Heroism from President Kennedy. His faith in God was why he was a servant here on earth. He loved his animals. He loved his children, but especially cherished his grandchildren. Larry is survived by his son, Christopher (Dawn) Williams; his daughters, Shannon Linville and Loretta Steffen; his brother, James Williams; eight grandchildren, Kaleigh, Ciarra, Alyxandra, Colby, Connor, Jalen, Kaya, and Alia. He is preceded in death by his parents and five grandchildren Services will take place at Green Valley Church of Christ, 19005 Cumberland Rd, Noblesville, IN, 46060 on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive friends on Saturday an hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Valley Grove Cemetery, Milton, Indiana, at 2:30 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to your local Humane Society.
