Lauramae Tarney, 90, a resident of rural Churubusco in Noble County and wife of Ned J. Tarney, passed away at 1:10 p. m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Tarney was born on June 4, 1922 in Independence, Kansas, a daughter of Ardell N. and Fern (Coldren) Arnold, and spent her formative years in New Haven. On January 1, 1942 she was married in Fort Wayne to Ned J. Tarney, and moved from Fort Wayne to rural Noble County where she had lived since 1971. Mrs. Tarney was a member of Community of Christ Church in Fort Wayne where she was very active and served as an Elder.e e She had many hobbies, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. The surviving relatives include her husband Ned J. Tarney, to whom she was married for 70 years; a daughter - Dixie Stouder of Fort Wayne; two sisters - Dorothy Burling of South Bend and Irene Keb of Mishawaka; a brother - Billy (Lois) Arnold of CA; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Nedric J. Tarney; a son-in-law Darwin Stouder; a grandson and a great-great grandson. Services will be held at 2:00 p. m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Community of Christ Church 3223 Hobson Road with Pastor Alycia Smith, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.e e Burial will be at a later date in Riverview Cemetery, Newville, DeKalb County.
