LaVelda K. McCoy, 94, a former resident of Green Township in Noble County and widow of Dale F. McCoy, passed away at 1:55 a. m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at North Ridge Village Nursing Home in Albion.e She had been a patient there since 2010. Mrs. McCoy was born in Green Township on January 18, 1919, a daughter of Raleigh and Evie (Miller) Keller.e She spent part of her childhood in Ohio and later lived near Churubusco and Huntertown. On March 11, 1935 she was married in Michigan to Dale F. McCoy, and spent all of her married life in Green Township.e She was previously employed at Wert Garment in Albion, and for 24 years was employed at Lyle Electric in Albion, retiring from there in 1979. She was a member of the Green Center United Methodist Church. Mr. McCoy preceded her in death on September 19, 1975. The surviving relatives include a daughter Hermione (Ralph) Stanley of Churubusco; two sons Roger (JoAnn) McCoy of Columbia City and Paul King of Butler; her sisters Pauline Troyer of LaOtto, Lucille Green of Fort Wayne, and Berneta Keller of LaOtto; and special friends Jerry and Kathy Strowmatt of Avilla.e There are 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters Dorothy Adams and Jennia Mae King; her brother Isaac "Ike" Keller; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a. m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Nancy Fergusson, pastor of Green Center United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Saturday morning. Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
